It comes as floral tributes have been left at a railway bridge in Deal, near where the fatal crash took place yesterday morning.

Taking to Facebook, Shelbea Deary said: "Can’t get my head round this. Going to miss you loads Owen Tagg. Love you mate. Rest in peace."

Also posting on the social site, Anthony King said: "I’m in absolute shock to be reading this awful news.

"Owen was such a nice young man he was my apprentice for a short time. I had nothing but admiration for him.

"My condolences go out to his friends and family especially to that of his girlfriend knowing they had a young child."

Mr Tagg's girlfriend Emy May said: "Never thought in a million years I’d be writing this. Heaven took another angel today. You was my soulmate and more.

"I really wish you're at piece watching over us all.

"I can’t describe the pain I’m feeling.

"Waiting for you to coming bouncing through the door with your big smile. What I would do to see you one last time. Sleep tight my angel won’t be long before I’m with you. Love you forever and always."

Charlie Lewis Elliott said: "I can’t believe I’m writing this.

"I could write for hours about the moments we shared, our memories and everything in between.

"This was never supposed to end this way. I didn’t even get to say goodbye. I’ll forever be grateful for our last words together, mine was “I love you”, yours was “ i love you too, take care of them boys”."

The crash happened at about 2.30am yesterday (Sunday) when a red Volkswagen Polo was travelling along Cornwall Road towards Hamilton Road when it collided with the railway bridge.

Two other men were seriously hurt in the collision and taken to hospital, where they remain in a serious but stable condition.

A woman also needed medical treatment for minor injuries.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are investigating the incident and are appealing for anyone who saw the car before the collision, or who has private CCTV or dashcam footage that might assist to come forward.

Anyone with information should call the SCIU appeal line on 01622 798 538 or email sciu.td@kent.pnn.police.uk quoting KH/KA/112/22.
