Presents dished out to children from catering firm Whole School Meals in celebration of 10th anniversary

A gift a day was received by children who eat school dinners from catering firm Whole School Meals.
It took place during a celebration week, marking a decade since the community interest company started serving up for the district’s pupils.
During the week, about 1,000 extra meals were served.
The children were asked to fill in a questionnaire of why they liked the meals and prizes were offered for the best answers.
The draw for the winners was made at the next directors’ meeting and one prize winner was chosen for entries from each school.
All the prizes are family orientated including a family day out at Wingham Wildlife Park, Diggerland, Dreamland, or Shepherdswell Railway’s Santa by Train event.
Trips to Howlett’s Wildlife Park, Betteshanger Park and Dover Castle were included as well as a family meal ticket or a Family Cookery Session at Chequers’ Kitchen.
The winners were announced at school assemblies following half-term and the children were given a letter to take home to their parents so that their choice of prize could be made.
