Two arrests following attempted 'child abduction' outside Sandown Primary School in Golf Road, Deal

Police have arrested two people following an attempted 'child abduction' near a primary school.
Mystery still surrounds the suspicious incident which happened in Golf Road, Deal at around 3.20pm on Monday, September 14.
One man, arrested two days after it happened, was released without charge and has been excluded from inquiries.
Another man was arrested on Saturday, September 19. He has since been bailed until Friday, October 16.
Investigating officers are continuing their appeal.
A spokesman said: “Kent Police is continuing to appeal for information from anyone who saw any suspicious activity in Golf Road, Deal at around 3pm on Monday, September 14 2020.
“Anyone who has information that might assist the investigation is asked to contact Kent Police.”
The man is said to have been seen walking alongside a child away from the area - understood to be the Key Stage 1 playground of Sandown Primary School.
When he was challenged by the child’s mother he left.
Detective Inspector Tristan Hardiman said: “This was a busy time of day in the area and I urge anyone who saw anything suspicious to contact us with any information they may have.”
Sandown Primary School also sent a letter out to parents warning them of the incident which states the incident happened in the Key Stage 1 playground.
It says: “The school as always continues to put safeguarding at the heart of all that we do.”
Kent County Council and the school have declined to comment.
