Two drink drivers and a car garage attacker are among the latest people to face justice in Kent’s magistrates’ courts.

Lenny Hough, of Goodwin Close, Deal, has been banned for driving for 26 months after he was caught driving a Renault Scenic in Ramsgate High Street on April 16.

The 35-year-old, who pleaded guilty to the charge, gave a breath test of 110 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.

Appearing at Thanet Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, May 2, he was told he must also carry out 140 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months, plus pay £85 costs and an £85 victim surcharge.

His disqualification can be reduced by 198 days if, by October 15 2018, he satisfactorily completes a course approved by the Secretary of State, the cost of which will not exceed £250.

Matthew Lonie, 40, of Hyde Place, Aylesham, has received an identical punishment after he was caught over the limit while driving a BMW 320 on the A2, Wincheap on April 15.

He gave a breath test of 106 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

He also appeared at Thanet Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, May 2 and pleaded guilty to the drink driving charge.

Norman Clark, of Centenary Gardens, Sandwich, has been ordered to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months after he assaulted a man at a garage in Cannon Street, Deal, last October.

The 64-year-old pleaded not guilty to causing actual bodily harm (ABH) at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, May 2, but was convicted of the offence.

He must also pay £2,000 compensation, £750 costs and an £85 victim surcharge.
