Two men suffered life-threatening injuries in an accident on the A2 between Dover and Canterbury on Wednesday morning, February 17. Police are appealing for witnesses.

The crash happened at 9.50am when a 44-tonne lorry crashed into a broken down lorry on the coastbound carriageway between Bridge and Barham. The lorry then jack-knifed and turned over onto its side.

Diesel spilled onto the road which has been closed. Diversions were put in place.

Ambulance and fire crews attended the scene. The two men who were seriously injured were in the lorry which overturned. One was airlifted to a hospital in London by the Kent air ambulance and the other was taken to the Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital in Margate.
