Volunteers needed to walk Dogs in Deal

13:00, 07 October 2014

A specialist national charity for terminally ill people is calling for dog walking volunteers in Deal.

The Cinnamon Trust is the only charity who helps keep the terminally ill with their much loved and needed companion animals together.

Through the work of volunteers, the charity will walk a dog for a housebound owner, foster pets when owners need hospital care, fetch the cat food and even clean out the bird cage or litter trays.

Community service support Tanya Swanson said: “We urgently need dog walking volunteers in Deal who are able to offer walks for a lovely three-year-old golden retriever.

“A large number of elderly or ill pet owners become very worried about their ability to care for their pets, and feel that their only option is to rehome them. This is where our national network of dedicated volunteers step in to offer support enabling them to stay together.

“We are always seeking new volunteers. Even if you can only spare an hour a week we would love to hear from you.”
