It's time to vote in the Mercury’s Pet of the Year competition.

If you think your pet deserves the title, and the chance to win some wonderful prizes, then you can vote for him or her now.

First prize will be a framed canvas print of the winning pet provided by Sign From Above, based in Mill Road, Deal, plus £50 worth of pet food vouchers supplied by The Pet Food Shop on The Strand, Walmer.

There will be £25 pet food vouchers for two runners-up. And the winner and both runners-up will be microchipped for free by the Burnham House veterinary surgery in Castle Street, Dover.

There will also be rosettes for the winner and runners-up.

This month the Mercury will be printing pictures of pets which readers have sent in.

To vote, simply fill in the entry form, which appears with this week's Mercury, with the details of your favourite pet and send it back. You can vote as many times as you like but only original voting forms will be accepted.

The pets with the most votes will go onto the shortlist, to be voted on by our judging panel. This comprises Dover vet Jeremy Stattersfield, of the Burnham House surgery, Luke Smith from Sign From Above, Sarah Knowles from The Pet Food Shop, and Clare Baumberg from Kingsdown Cat Sanctuary.

Closing date for your votes is Wednesday, April 1.
