Walmer lifeboat rescued a dingy in a busy shipping lane yesterday.
The volunteer crew were called at 9.32am to a small 4m dingy around 7.5 miles from Walmer.
It is believed to be from Folkestone and was reported in the busy shipping lanes of Dover by a passing ferry.
A warship was able to stand by the small craft to alert other vessels to its presence. The dingy did not have any persons on board and had been reported missing on Thursday evening.
Walmer volunteer crew with Andrew Howland at the helm rigged a tow line and the vessel was towed to a safer location. Once under tow the decision was made to take the dingy to Dover Harbour.
Arrangements were then made for it to be collected by its owner.
