Police have today launched an appeal for witnesses after an alleged assault on two girls in Deal.
The incident, on Friday, January 23, happened in Trinity Place, between 8pm and 8.30pm and was preceded with a incident at Freemen's Way.
A Kent Police spokesman said: "Two 16-year-old girls were reported to have been assaulted by two other girls.
"The girls had previously been on Freemen’s Way and a member of the public had separated the suspects from the victims.
"They reported that they were then chased into Trinity Place, where the assault took place."
Two 14-year-old girls have been arrested on suspicion of assault and were later released on bail while officers make further enquiries.
Officers would now like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident, and also the person who intervened in Freemen’s Way.
