Woman sexually assaulted on walk home in Deal

A woman was grabbed from behind and sexually assaulted as she walked home.

Police are appealing for witnesses after the serious attack on Sunday morning at around 3.20am in St Richard’s Road, Deal.

The attacker is said to be a white man, around 40 years old, with short, receding brown hair and wearing mid grey tracksuit bottoms, dark trainers and a dark blue waterproof jacket.

After the attack, the woman, in her twenties, made her way home and the police were called.

Det Insp Trevor Fleming, of Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate, said: "I would like to speak to anyone who heard or saw anything suspicious during the time frame of the incident.

"I am keen to speak to anyone who may have seen a male fitting the description in the vicinity."
