Dover manager Chris Kinnear has not ruled out bringing fans favourite Jon Wallis back to the club.
The midfielder left Dartford earlier this week after asking to be released from his contract due to family and work commitments.
Wallis spent four seasons with the Whites, helping them secure back-to-back Ryman League championships and then a second-placed finish in Conference South.
But he fell out of favour with previous manager Martin Hayes and quit Crabble to sign for the Darts in 2011.
The 27-year-old has been linked with a possible move to Maidstone but the door has been left open for a possible return to the south-east coast.
Kinnear said: “He did very well for Dover in the Ryman League when they got promoted. I don’t know what he wants to do but I’m keeping an open mind.
“I have lots of names come up and I’m talking to lots of players all the time. I know Jon Wallis because he was in the same class as my daughter.”
