A 38-year-old Turkish lorry driver, Firket Azad, was due to appear before magistrates in Dover today charged with attempted drug smuggling after the seizure of a huge amount of heroin.
About 300 kilos of the drug, with an estimated street value of around £20 million, was discovered last week in a lorry which arrived in Dover from Zeebrugge.
