Police appeal after lit firework posted through Eythorne resident’s letterbox

Police have launched an arson probe after a lit firework was posted through the letterbox of a home.
Officers and firefighters attended a property in Eythorne, Dover, after receiving calls about a suspected arson attack.
An investigation is ongoing and an image has been released of a man who may be able to assist officers with their inquiries.
A police spokesperson said: “We were called at about 6.15am on Wednesday, January 3 to a report that a lit firework had been posted through the letterbox of a property in Adelaide Road.
“Officers attended along with the fire service, who ensured the resident and his property were safe.
“No injuries were reported however the firework had caused damage to the carpet.”
