A 47-year-old man has died in hospital in Ashford two days after being rescued from a fire in a four-storey building in Dover.
Glyn Tenant had been pulled from a derelict flat above JG's Amusements at the corner of Townwall Street and Bench Street.
The building is known to have been used as a squat and Mr Tenant was believed to have been homeless. He had connections with the Canterbury area. An inquest is to be held.
Mr Tennant's dog was also rescued suffering from smoke inhalation and was revived by fire crews using oxygen before it was taken away.
