Boy hurt in 'flame-throwing' caper

A TEENAGE boy has been transferred to a specialist burns unit after a deadly "flame-throwing" game went wrong in Dover. Three boys bought cans of deodorant from a supermarket in the town and started playing with them, setting light to the spray from the cans.
One of them, aged 13, suffered serious burns. He managed to get to Dover's Buckland Hospital but was later transferred to the specialist burns unit at East Grinstead in West Sussex. His injuries are said to be serious, but not life-threatening.
Police are warning parents to make sure their children know the dangers of playing with such high-pressurised cans. "Aerosol cans and fire don't mix and can be extremely dangerous and sometimes fatal," said police spokesman Jon Green. "We are urging parents to warn their children not to play with fire, or aerosols."
