Officers attended the incident along with the ambulance service and the victim was airlifted to a hospital in London with a stab wound.

Following inquiries, two boys were arrested later the same day, a police spokesman said.

A 17-year-old boy from the Dover area has since been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent, affray and threatening a person with a knife.

A 16-year-old boy, also from the Dover area, has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent and affray.

Neither can be named due to their age and legal reasons and both are due to appear at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court today.

The man’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

It is the second stabbing in the last two days in Dover.

Horrified residents have told how police cars came “screaming” into their road after a man was stabbed on Sunday evening.

Police say a man in his 30s was taken to a local hospital, while a 48-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault.

He was at first placed in custody but was released yesterday on bail pending further inquiries.
