Kind residents helped the driver of a car that smashed into a tree and spun out across both lanes on the Alkham Valley near Dover.
Police and ambulance crews were called just after 11.30pm last night near Chilton Farm to reports of the crash involving one vehicle.
The car is thought to have ploughed into the tree after it fell, blocking the road.
A police spokesman said: "It's an unlit road so it would have been a bit of a hazard.
"The driver said the car was lengthways across the whole of the road.
"Residents who live nearby came out with torches so they could help him avoid traffic going into the car."
SECAmb attended with one ambulance car to assist a male patient suffering from shoulder pain.
Press spokesman, Richard Airey said: "He was checked over at the scene. He declined further hospital treatment."
