Vista Twisters cheerleading squad launch season with showcase in Dover
11:00, 18 March 2017
There was enthusiastic twisting and twirling when the Vista Twisters launched their competitive season with a club showcase.
The 140 athletes representing nine squads performed their full competition routines in front of over 400 parents and supporters at Dover Leisure Centre.
The club will take on the very best cheer programmes in the UK over the next five months at events in Telford, Bournemouth, Guildford and Nottingham - defending their national and regional titles at numerous levels.
Programme director Ruth McDade said: “This was only our second showcase and we are so happy with the response from our parents and supporters.
“It’s a great opportunity for us to try out routines and give the athletes a chance to show everyone how hard they have been working.”
The Twisters programme runs over 15 hours per week and is still growing as competition throughout the country becomes more intense.
Members are welcome from Dover, Deal and Sandwich and further afield.
