Insulate Britain members due in court after protests on the M25 and Dover port

A total of 74 Insulate Britain protestors are due to appear in court following sit ins on the M25 and at the port of Dover.

Kent Police was called to the incidents last autumn to manage disruption caused to tens of thousands of motorists.

A spokesman said: "Officers have worked closely with the Crown Prosecution Service as part of their ongoing investigations.

"This has resulted in 104 charges concerning 74 individuals, who have been summonsed to attend hearings at Crawley Magistrates’ Court from April."

A dozen people face a charge of public nuisance following an incident on the M25 at Junction 3 on September 13. They are due to appear in court on April 4.

A total of 22 people face a charge of public nuisance following an incident on the M25 at Junction 1 on September 15. They are due to appear in court on April 6.

A total of 39 face a charge of public nuisance following an incident on the A20 in Dover on September 24. They are due to appear in court on April 28 and 29.

A total of 11 are charged with obstruction following an incident during the morning of September 29 2021 at Junction 3 of the M25. They are to appear in court on April 11.

Some 16 are charged with obstruction following an incident during the afternoon of September 29 at Junction 3 of the M25. They are due to appear in court on April 12.

Two people face a charge of obstruction following an incident on the M25 at Junction 1 on 27 October. They are to appear in court on April 13.

Two are charged with criminal damage to a police car following an incident on the M25 at Junction 3 September 29. They are due to appear in court on April 12.

A further 19 people who were arrested in connection with the protests were released without charge.
