Cross-Channel challege for Whites

DOVER Athletic FC are to take on Calais in a two-legged challenge match for a trophy put up by Hoverspeed, Whites' new shirt and ground sponsors.
The first leg will take place at the Hoverspeed Stadium on July 19, with the second leg in Calais towards the end of next season.
The driving force behind the resurrection of the cross-Channel challenge between the two clubs has been Trevor Bond, Hoverspeed's head of sales and marketing and the man who signed the new sponsorship deal with Whites earlier this month.
Whites' financial director Steve Cattermole said: "We are absolutely stunned by how much Trevor has done in so little time. Trevor has made it 'attractive' for fans to travel to the games and is in the process of setting up meetings with the local councils and dignitaries to make these occasions much more than just a football match."
He added: "It will be interesting to see the contrasting styles clash when the teams come together in two months' time."
