00:00, 08 January 2009
The first 68 jobs of a possible 190 at the Port of Dover have been transferred to a private company.
Before Christmas port workers held two bouts of industrial action over the privatisation of jobs at the port.
Talks between Dover Harbour Board and the Unite union about the remaining 122 jobs are continuing, with a decison expected by February 1.
The security staff have officially switched over to work for G4S.
