A Dover man has been handed a bill of £270 - after dropping a cigarette on Biggin Street back in January.
Robert Kuru, 22, of Winchelsea Terrace, failed to attend Canterbury Magistrates Court on Tuesday and was found guilty in his absence.
Mr Kuru was initially issued with a Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN) but the district council took him to court after he failed to pay up.
The Magistrates imposed a fine of £100, with a £20 victim surcharge, and Mr Kuru was ordered to pay costs of £150.
