A statement from the agency said: "This is to prevent port-bound traffic from disrupting the local road network and the A20 through Dover town.

Motorists must not exceed 40mph from the Roundhill Tunnel to the traffic lights at Aycliffe. The lights will signal to port bond HGVs when they can move forward through the town.
