Firefighters were called to a home after a blaze broke out in a kitchen.
Crews were called to Farthingloe Road in Dover, at around 10.54am today.
Two fire engines were sent to the property, with crews spending around two hours tackling the blaze.
An ambulance was also sent to the home.
The fire is believed to have started accidentally, due to a fault with an electrical appliance.
A fire service spokesman said: "We are reminding people to keep all electrical appliances such as tumble dryers and washing machines in good working order, and to always register them with the manufacturer.
"It's also safer to ensure they're switched off whenever you head out or go to bed."
