Former Club Karma and Nu Age nightclub site in Dover on sale for £1 million and set to become flats

A former nightclub which is due to be transformed into 29 homes is on the market for £1 million.
The now-empty 1950s building, which is set to be demolished, was known to generations in Dover as the Nu Age nightclub.
The bar, which had three dance floors, was renamed Studio One in 2005 and then Club Karma in 2006, before closing in 2014.
It was struck by an arson attack in July 2018.
But in 2021 permission was granted to replace the site in Adrian Street with two buildings holding 29 flats and a home-working hub.
Now the building has been put on the market for £1 million.
Agents Hobbs Parker Estate state: "Situated at the Western entrance to Dover town centre, with lovely sea views.
"This site is within walking distance to Dover Priory Station, the Dockyards and the town centre."
An artist's impression has also been released, which shows how the new flats will look once built - with two adjoining buildings, each six-storeys high.
The site lies in an area in Dover which is rich in Roman history.
Indeed, when permission was granted for the new homes, it was on the condition it was searched by archaeologists in case anything of historical importance was discovered.
Those checks will take place in due course.
The Romans used the area's Dour Estuary as a port and the clear sign of that today is the Roman Painted House, now a tourist attraction in nearby New Street.
Digs around Dover Discovery Centre, also close by in York Street, revealed evidence of sunken buildings and halls of Anglo-Saxon date.
Burials, thought to be Anglo-Saxon, were recorded around 100 metres north-west of the Club Karma site, at Albany Place.
The Bronze Age Boat, now on display in Dover Museum, was uncovered in 1992 just a couple of hundred yards away during work to build the present A20 through the town.
The former club also sits across the road from the disused building where the Banksy Brexit mural was in place from 2017 to 2019.
In addition it is across the road from the scene of the fatal Crypt restaurant fire of 1977, which killed seven people. The land here has now been built over again.
This whole area is to be transformed after last month Dover District Council was granted £18.1 million from the Government's Levelling Up Fund.
It is planned to have an education campus, business centre, riverside park and homes.
