Contestants in a fun dog show will be helping their less fortunate canine colleagues.
The dog show is part of an open day at Frandham Rehoming Centre, Minnis Lane, River, on Sunday, July 27.
The centre takes in neglected and abandoned dogs and tries to find them loving homes.
At present they are full with about 50 dogs.
Kate Harpley, who helps run the kennels, said: “It costs us more than £1,000 a month to feed the dogs and pay the vet bills.
“Nearly all those coming here have something wrong with them or are pregnant.
