Dover district is getting almost half a million pounds next year to help those sleeping rough.
The near-£500,000 for 2022/23 is both to prevent homelessness and support domestic abuse victims with nowhere to go.
It is part of more than £300 million to councils for that year in the Government's Homelessness Prevention Grant
It has committed to working with partners to end rough sleeping all together by 2027.
This latest funding builds on a Government’s scheme called Everyone In.
This was an initiative launched at the beginning of the pandemic, which saw protection given to thousands of rough sleepers.
Dover and Deal Natalie Elphicke welcomed the funding, saying: “Homelessness prevention and rough sleeping are areas which I campaigned on, and volunteered with, long before I became an MP.
"I remain deeply committed to housing and homelessness prevention.
"The Government's Homelessness Prevention funding is such an important grant to ensure that some of the most vulnerable people in our community are protected in the coming years."
