An award-winning chef is competing in a TV cookery competition.
Sam McClurkin of The Dog at Wingham, is appearing in the current series of Masterchef: The Professionals.
In October he earned the accolade UK's best young cook in the Great British Pub Awards 2021.
The 25-year-old chef studied cookery at the former East Kent College, now Broadstairs College.
He then gained roles in the kitchen of TV chef Tom Kerridge's pub, The Hand & Flowers in Marlow and the Michelin-starred Sportsman at Seasalter.
And now, he's making a name for himself on the 14th series of Masterchef: The Professionals where 32 chefs battle it out for the crown.
He is one of nine chefs already in the quarter finals with four still left to compete in a heat.
Masterchef: The Professionals is on BBC One on Mondays at 7:30pm, Thursdays at 9pm and Fridays at 8.30pm.
