Romford man arrested and bailed following seizure of heroin and cocaine at Port of Dover

Millions of pounds worth of heroin and cocaine were seized from a man at the Port of Dover.

Around 48 kilos of heroin and 34 kilos of cocaine were found on April 9.

Officers at the Eastern Docks used a detector dog to search a British-registered lorry and its load of roofing materials.

A 36-year-old man was arrested and bailed until June 4.

Following the seizure by Border Force, the investigation and prosecution are being carried out by the National Crime Agency.

Paul Morgan, director of Border Force south east and Europe said: “Heroin and cocaine are vile and destructive drugs, which ruin the lives of users and the wider community.

“Border Force officers are on constant alert to keep illegal drugs and other banned substances out of the UK.
