Clear Voice Interpreting Services of Dover listed in UK Social Enterprise Roll of Honour for help during pandemic

A language translating business has been honoured for its work during the pandemic.

Clear Voice Interpreting Services, based in Dover, has been recognised in the UK Social Enterprise Roll of Honour.

This is run by the UK Social Enterprise Awards group.

Clear Voice was named at a ceremony hosted by actor, comedian and director Chris Addison and with speakers including former Prime Minister Gordon Brown.

The business has been working to meet the growing demands of telephone interpreting in the last year.

It designed and launched a new website as well as devising new ways of keeping in touch with clients and interpreters.

It will shortly launch an online booking system.

Clear Voice has provided telephone and face to face interpreting and written translation to UK charities and businesses for more than 10 years.

It specialises in 24/7 on-demand over the phone interpreting, processing more than 6 million minutes of calls a year.

It has nearly 700 interpreters covering 200 language.

All its profits go to its parent charity Migrant Help, which offers advice and support to vulnerable asylum seekers.

Social enterprises are businesses that trade for a social purpose and reinvest or donate profits for their mission.

They now contribute £60 billion to the UK economy and employ 2 million people.
