Premier Inn hotel in Dover applies for permission to add 20 rooms

12:00, 16 May 2016

A hotel near the Port of Dover has put in a planning application to add 20 bedrooms.

The Premier Inn Dover East Hotel in Jubilee Way, Guston, has asked for permission to add an extension to the existing premises, including an external staircase and more car parking.

The Whitbread Group, which manages the 650 Premier Inns on a national level, has said there is a demand for more hotel rooms.

The hotel is associated with the Duke of York Brewers Fayre pub, both off the A2 between the port and Whitfield.

If permission is granted, the block will contain 60 rooms and there will be 60 more car parking spaces added.

It is likely that the application will be discussed publicly among planning officers, but a date for this has not been set.
