Kent Fire and Rescue were called to a house fire in Beaufoy Road last night.
Two appliances from Dover were on the scene at 8.56pm on Sunday night to a small house fire which started in the kitchen, in an oven.
Watch manager Tony Scott said: "No one was home and the cooking had been left unattended.
"If you're cooking don't leave it unattended."
He explained that it was a relatively small fire which was put out with a hose jet reel and firefighters used breathing apparatus.
