A ship which has taken D-Day veterans to Normandy is arriving in Dover.
The MV Boudicca has taken war heroes and their friends and families on a seven day trip to the French region.
Bad weather conditions has forced the ship to dock in Kent rather than Portsmouth as previously planned.
The Royal British Legion called on the people of Kent to greet them as they entered the port.
Bob Gamble, assistant director at The Royal British Legion, said: “Unfortunately the weather conditions mean that our veterans will miss out on the activity the people of Portsmouth had planned for them as they arrived back, therefore we are asking the people of Dover to step up and give our Normandy heroes the welcome back they deserve."
And, as they did on Wednesday when 34 Dakotas flew over the county, they answered the call with a few hundred people making it to the port.
