Heavy traffic caused by Operation Stack on the nearby A2 is pushing motorists into the small village, with lorries parked along Station Road near to the accident.

With the key thoroughfare blocked, all of the roads into and out of the village are highly congested.

Long queues are also forming to join the A2, as drivers take their place in the long queue to travel eastbound.

Police are in attendance at the damaged lorry, while engineers use cherry pickers to repair the damaged power line.

Police have been contacted for more information.
