This was the moment a lorry ended up jammed tight under a low railway bridge.
The incident held up vehicles trying to travel in both directions on Alkham Road in Kearsney.
One bewildered car passenger is seen stepping out of a car and viewing the chaos.
A police spokesman said: "Kent Police were called at 11.19am to a report a lorry had been in collision with a bridge in Alkham Road, Dover.
"Officers attended and assisted in traffic management until the road reopened. Network Rail also attended."
Network Rail has said the bridge, part of the Dover to Canterbury and London Victoria line, has regularly been struck by high-sided lorries and so it has a steel beam to protect it.
In a previous incident, in November 2016, trains had to be stopped for an hour and a half while engineers checked the bridge for structural damage.
