Dover Castle in Kent forced to close on Bank Holiday Monday over water supply issues

One of Kent's most popular attractions has been forced to close over issues with its water supply.
Dover Castle, in Dover, is remaining shut on Bank Holiday Monday while bosses have offered "sincere apologies for any inconvenience" caused to visitors.
Founded in the 11th century, the large medieval castle is one of England's oldest strongholds and has been described as the "key to England" due to the crucial role it has played in defending the country over nine centuries.
Today, the castle is a major tourist attraction. Managed by English Heritage, it offers a fun family day out and typically enjoying large crowds on bank holidays.
But a notice published on its website and Facebook page today reads: "Due to situations beyond our control we currently have no water supply at Dover Castle.
"Therefore, we have reluctantly made the decision to remain closed today.
"Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience this closure causes."
The notice confirms that anyone who has booked tickets for today will be refunded automatically within 10 working days.
