Man arrested after early morning assault on woman in Folkestone Road in Dover

An 18-year-old man has been arrested after an alleged assault on a woman in her 50s.
Police were called to the scene in Folkestone Road, Dover , shortly before 7am yesterday.
The woman reported that she was walking along the road when she was approached by a man who spoke to her and then assaulted her.
She sustained bruising and other injuries which required hospital treatment.
The man from Dover was subsequently arrested in connection with the incident and has been released on bail until November 8 while inquiries continue.
Detective Inspector Cara Ferguson said: "The assault took place near a set of a temporary traffic lights in Folkestone Road, so we believe there are motorists who were in the area and might have seen something which could assist our enquiries."
