Man charged after car fires in Ash near Sandwich

A 44-year-old man has been charged after three car fires in a village.
The blazes happened late on Tuesday, July 18 and the early hours of Wednesday morning in Queens Road, Ash near Sandwich.
After firefighters extinguished the flames, the incidents were deemed suspicious by police, and following an investigation, Jonathan Smith, of Chilton Place, Ash, was arrested.
He appeared in Folkestone Magistrates Court yesterday, charged with three counts of arson.
At court, he was remanded in custody to appear at Canterbury Crown on Monday, August 21.
