A young man was found with drugs and a knife in his bag at a railway station.
Officers stopped an 18-year-old at Dover Priory yesterday as he was “smelling of cannabis”.
British Transport Police say they carried out a search and found the knife and Class B drug in his bag.
They said the man informed officers the weapon was for his own protection as “people had previously threatened him”.
The man has since been charged with possession of an offensive weapon and possession of a Class B drug. He will appear in court on September 14.
