Man dies after car hits tree on A2 near Shepherdswell

A man in his 20s died after the car he was in hit a tree yesterday.
The incident occurred at about 8pm on the A2 coastbound near Shepherdswell, with the silver Volkswagen T-Roc reportedly flipping.
Both sides of the A2 were temporarily closed following the crash, with the Londonbound carriageway soon reopening.
The coastbound carriageway was only opened at 3.10am.
The man - who was a passenger - was declared dead at the scene, while another man in his 20s received treatment for serious injuries.
A police spokesman said: "Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are investigating the circumstances and would like to hear from anyone who has information.
Officers would also like to hear from anyone who was travelling on the coastbound A2 and has footage of the collision, or footage of the vehicle being driven in the moments leading up to the incident.
