The store, in Bewsbury Cross Lane, was broken into just before 11pm on Saturday, where some cigarettes and a small quantity of cash were stolen.
A fire, thought to be started deliberately, ignited the doorway between 2.40-2.50am on Sunday which caused an estimated £4,000 worth of damage.
It is not yet known if these two incidents are linked.
