A diver has died after getting into difficulty in the sea off Kent.
Police and ambulance crews descended on Dover Marina after being called to concerns over a man in the water this morning.
Coastguard vessels from Folkestone and Landon Battery were sent out to sea after a dive vessel sounded a mayday call at around 9.45am.
The search and rescue helicopter was also sent out from Lydd to the scene around six nautical miles from the coast.
They escorted the dive ship back to port where police and ambulance services were waiting for them.
Two ambulance vehicles and three incident response vehicles were sighted near Crosswall Quay, near the RNLI station, as well as four police vehicles.
The passage to the Dover Marina office and the RNLI station were sealed off with police tape shortly after the incident.
The victim was passed into the care of paramedics, but was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
The coastguard have also confirmed that the incident does not involve asylum seekers.
