Public meeting over wind turbines 'threat'
16:29, 23 November 2007
A PARISH council has called a public meeting to discuss a campaign to stop the building of five high powered wind turbines in a Kent village.
The meeting will be held this Monday (November 26) at East Langdon Village Hall, near Dover, at 7.30pm.
It will be addressed by members of Langdon Action Group (LAG) which formed in the summer after learning that energy firm Eco-Tricity were planning to build five two megawatt turbines in the village.
Anthony Hyde, chairman of the group, said the turbines, if built, would be an eyesore on the landscape as well as causing possible illeffects on health. "Why risk it," he added.
