Members of the public stepped in to clear a road after a car rolled onto its side in a crash which has caused “traffic chaos”.
Police officers and paramedics were in Folkestone Road, Dover, this afternoon after the collision.
The rolled car, which is believed to have hit a parked vehicle, has since been recovered but there have been delays in the area from Belgrave Road to Malvern as a result.
A police spokesperson said officers were called at about 2.45pm and no serious injuries were reported.
One vehicle had to be pushed out of the way of the road with a witness reporting the aftermath of the incident has caused “traffic chaos”.
“Four burly men had to physically push a car out of the way after a road crash – the small vehicle was so badly damaged it could not be steered away,” he said.
“The heroic heave-ho effort lasted several minutes as police controlled traffic in the aftermath of the crash.
“At least some of the men were though to have been passing the area when they waded into help.
“A policewoman directing traffic said it was ‘very public-spirited of them’.
“One double-decker bus and a lorry had to turn around on the relatively narrow Folkestone Road.
“Car drivers tried to bypass the blockage by swarming uphill into the Clarendon estate.
“Blockages were at times caused by clusters of cars coming in and out of the Belgrave Road junctions with Clarendon Place and Clarendon Street.”
The road was cleared shortly after 4pm.
