Litter will be cleared from the A20 tonight, forcing one lane closure for four nights this week.
It will be shut off from the Roundhill Tunnels in Folkestone through to the A20 approach into Dover.
It will be closed from 7pm and is set to re-open early each morning.
It is thought that lorry drivers were dumping their rubbish and urinating on the grass verges during Operation Stack in January.
Traffic has also piled up along the dual-carriageway when high volumes of freight has passed through the port.
Dover District Council (DDC) will be clearing the area until Thursday, March 19.
A DDC spokesman said: “In order to keep disruption and costs to a minimum, we work with partner agencies to coincide clear ups with other pre-arranged lane closures.”
- If residents have concerns about specific areas, report them on the DDC website or call 01304 872428.
