Environment Agency issues flood alerts for Pegwell Bay, Sandwich, Deal and Dover

Residents are being urged to remain vigilant after flood warnings were issued in parts of the South East.
An alert is in place along the coast from Pegwell Bay to Deal, with water levels expected to peak at Sandwich at 2.15pm.
The Environment Agency has issued another flood warning for the high tide at Dover at about 1.15pm this afternoon.
A surge is combining with spring tides later today to pose a risk to low lying land and roads. Property flooding is not expected.
The Environment Agency has advised people to be aware and to take suitable precautions.
No further flood alerts are expected after 2.15pm.
