Has anyone touched your life and helped you in a big way?
You can show your appreciation by contributing to a Thank You Tree with funds going to help teenage cancer victim Kelly Turner.
The tree is at the Charlton Centre in Dover and you can decorate a bauble and write a thank-you message for someone.
The scheme is organised by the community development group, Dover Big Local (DBL).
DBL community worker Linda Aldred said: “We are hoping to get as many residents involved as we can.
“We really want to cover the tree by Christmas so let’s show how generous Dover can be.”
To create a personalised bauble you can pop in to the Big Local Centre at the Charlton from Monday to Friday from 10am to 3pm.
Or you can come to its workshops on Saturdays from 10.30am to 12.30pm or on the same day to the DBL Christmas pop-up shop opposite St Mary’s Church in Cannon Street from 10.30am to 2pm.
Finally, you can bring your own from home.
Kelly Turner, 16, from Dover, has a rare form of cancer and needs £1 million for full specialist treatment at a clinic in New York.
Countless fundraising events have been held for her by people in the town and beyond over the last few months.
The Mercury is also backing the campaign to help her.
Events continue with a double fundraising day at East Kent College in Shorncliffe Road, Folkestone, today and tomorrow from 11am to 4pm.
It will include and ice bucket and bottle flip challenge and a raffle.
The Railway Swing Band plays tonight from 7.30pm at St. George's Church in Deal High Street.
A Mistletoe and Wine Christmas Cabaret show takes place at Dover Town Hall at 7.30pm next Thursday, December 22.
There will also be a quiz and raffle night that evening from 8pm at the Louis Armstrong pub in Maison Dieu Road, Dover.
You can donate online to justgiving.com/fundraising/kelly-turner2000.
You can also give to the Kelly Turner Fundraising account at the NatWest bank in Dover: sort code 600704, account number 39767000.
Several high street businesses also have collection tins for Kelly so cash can also be donated.
