Kent pays tribute to its War heroes in Remembrance Services across the county

Kent fell silent at 11am as those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom were honoured in services in the county's towns and villages.
The young and old have gathered at ar memorials or taken part in parades reminding the nation of the importance of remembering those who died in conflict for us.
Maidstone: The town's Remembrance parade began at 10.20am from County Hall.
Ex-service organisations, standard bearers and cadets processed along Week Street, High Street and over the bridge to the War Memorial at the Broadway.
At 11.15am, after the service, it returned with the mayor taking the salute outside the Town Hall.

Dover: A parade through the town centre preceded the tributes at Dover War Memorial in the town's Biggin Street.
Hundreds gathered to pay their respects by singing, saying prayers and laying wreaths on behalf of individuals or organisations.
Sandwich: Councillors processed from the Guildhall to Market Street to remember the town's war dead.
The service, organised by the town council, was led by the Rev Canon Mark Roberts who said prayers and a blessing before dignitaries and ex-service organisations laid their wreaths.
Service goers then processed from the site near St Peter's Church to St Clement's Church for a service.
Rainham:
A Remembrance service in St Margaret's Church, in the High Street, started at 10.15am this morning.
It was followed by a procession down the road at 10.30am and wreaths were laid at the war memorial in the High Street, next to the Cricketers pub.
Sittingbourne:
Veterans, digintaries and children were among those to lay wreaths at Sittingbourne War Memorial during the town's Remembrance service.
The parade set off from the Appleyard Clubhouse in Avenue of Remembrance, next to Borden Grammar School, and it ended at the memorial.
Tomorrow's Armistice Day service will be held at the memorial in Central Avenue at 11am.
Medway:
A parade march proudly through Rochester High Street to Rochester Cathedral where the Sunday service began at 10.50am.
It was followed by a ceremonial wreath laying.
A march from Debenhams in Chatham High Street began just after 10am before a service was held next to the bandstand in Victoria Gardens, Fort Pitt, Chatham, at 10.30am.
Gillingham's Remembrance Day commemorations began with a parade in the High Street from 10.30am.
Canterbury:
Veterans, army and cadet forces and VIPs gathered in Canterbury for a parade, wreath laying and cathedral service.
The parade assembled in Iron Bar Lane from 9.15am before marching down Burgate at 10.05am to the Buttermarket for the wreath laying ceremony at 10.22am.
It was followed by a service in the cathedral at 10.55am.
Afterwards the parade left the precincts for the march past at the East Kent Yeomanry memorial in the High Street where the salute was given by the Lord Lieutenant of Kent The Viscount De L’Isle.
