Europeans have just one more week to apply to stay in the UK with full rights post-Brexit.

Britain left the European Union on New Year's Eve and those from the Continent have until Wednesday, June 30, to make their application, which can be done online.

Dover District Council is offering guidance on its website.

Applying would give those from the Continent the right to live, work and study here and access NHS and other public services beyond that date.

This is for citizens of the EU, the European Economic Area (also including Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway), or Switzerland who were living in the UK by New Year's Eve.

They must seek settled or pre-settled status using the government's EU Settlement Scheme.

Information on exactly who should apply can be found on the gov.uk website.

Even if you have lived in the UK for many years, or have a UK permanent residence document, you still need to apply for yourself and possibly your children.

You don't have to apply if you have valid indefinite leave or if you are Irish as free movement continues between Britain and Ireland.

If your application is successful, you will be given either settled status or pre-settled status, depending on how long you have been living in the UK.

You can get support seeking the status if you’re vulnerable, for example elderly, disabled or have mental health issues, have no permanent address or if you are the victim of human trafficking.

Start your application now at by clicking here.

Help and support is available by calling the helpline on 0300 123 7379.
