Firefighters battle fryer blaze at Fish and Chip shop in Cherry Tree Avenue, Dover

A man had to be treated for the effects of smoke inhalation after a fire broke out in the kitchen of a takeaway.
Firefighters were called to the fish and chip shop in Cherry Tree Avenue, Dover after a deep fat fryer caught alight.
Two engines were sent just after 7pm last night.
Crews used breathing apparatus to enter the building to put out the flames and said one man suffered the effects of smoke inhalation and was handed into the care of paramedics.
